Br. Philip White, OFM Cap.
Hometown: "I was born in Scranton, PA, but lived all over as my father was in the navy. We lived in places such as Italy, Cuba, Wisconsin, Delaware, Connecticut, and Virginia as a result."
Age: 40
Before Becoming a Friar: "I was as full time student who made a lot of dumb but harmless decisions before I chose to answer God's call. I also worked for four years managing a Subway shop."
Why I'm a Capuchin: "One of the first things that drew me to the Capuchins, and continues to inspire me is our traditional work as confessors and spiritual directors. With the likes of saints such as St. Pio, and many living saints in the Order it is hard not to get excited about these ministries, especially as this is the Year of Mercy! Another traditional Capuchin ministry that interests me is hospital chaplaincy."
